Summary

This law establishes a prohibition on the production, import, marketing, and use of non-reusable plastic bags for packaging in the wholesale or retail trade. It also regulates the introduction of protective measures aimed to progressively reduce the number of plastic bags in the environment, replacing them with biodegradable and compostable bags, which are consistent with the aim of minimizing the generation and disposal of waste. Offences and penalties are specified in the text.
